TOGETHER WE RISE!

Image
The image is designed by the blogger.   Empowering women refers to giving women the ability to make decisions for themselves. Women have endured a huge amount at the hands of men over the years. They were classified as if they didn't exist in ancient times. As if all rights, including the right to vote, belonged to men. Women became more aware of their influence as time passed. The revolution for women's empowerment started there. Women have always fought for their freedom, fair rights, and equality since the dawn of creation. Gender stereotypes are so impervious that it takes years for them to be gradually eradicated from our culture. It still exists today, but there has been a significant change in how people perceive a woman's actions. Being a woman is challenging enough without having to contend with misogynists on a regular basis or hearing offensive comments if anyone attempts to speak up for themselves. Women are not objects, we weren't created fokr the pleasu...

Next journey

Image
This 3rd quarter was a challenge not only for me but to also for my fellow students. A lot has happened in our country and the government still continue to disappoint us with their failed missions and promises, and questionable decisions which makes us have zero to no motivation in still actively pursuing and doing these activities. And with their incompetence, COVID-19 cases continue to soar and quarantines are implemented again in our country. This made students have access to education only digitally, with this it made another barrier for students and even teachers to overcome because of the lack of gadgets and the poor internet connection we have at our homes. Even though it is called “flexible” learning, it failed to reach to students and teachers who have limited to no access to the internet. It had been hard for me to do everything in a week. It’s challenging my time management. I got to take overtime always just to finish all my tasks afraid I might fail my classes. Thoug...

Covid 19 Vaccine

Image
For us to understand how COVID-19 vaccines can be helpful in the community let’s first define the meaning of a vaccine in general. According to the Vaccine Knowledge Project, A vaccine is a type of medicine that trains the body’s immune system so that it can fight a disease it has not come into contact with before. Vaccines are designed to prevent disease, rather than treat a disease once you have caught it. Vaccines safely expose the body to pathogens so that the immune system can make antibodies capable of binding to their antigens. This allows the immune system to fight off a specific disease-causing pathogen should it encounter that pathogen in the future. There are many COVID-19 vaccines being developed and produced by different manufacturers around the world. WHO recommends that a vaccine from the same manufacturer be used for both doses if you require two doses. This recommendation may be updated as further information becomes available. COVID-19 vaccine helps to protect you fro...

LENTEN SEASON

Image
During Lent, many Christians observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, self-denial, and spiritual discipline. The purpose of the Lenten season is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ—to consider his suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial, and resurrection. It is the period of 40 days which comes before Easter in the Christian calendar. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. In the Philippines, we celebrate the Lenten Season in such a special and unique way. Considering that the country is dominated with Catholics, it is no surprise that celebrating the Lenten Season is significant and important.  Sources: http://troubadour.francis.edu/3387/uncategorized/lenten-season-a-time-for-reflection-and-growth/#photo https://www.shutterstock.com/search/lenten+seaso...

2nd Quarter Reflection

Image
For me, I slowly got used to this modular learning but then there are still some problems that I encountered during this quarter, there are still some aspects that I need to improve on , and there are things that I need to further examine, and enhance. I learned many topics from our different subjects. I broaden my knowledge on certain areas with the use of these modules and help from other resources.   The problems that I mainly encountered were the amount of work that is needed to be done. If you are going to ask me, this second quarter is a lot harder than the first quarter because of the piles of works and projects that were assigned for us to fully finish, As a matter of fact, some subjects have been more difficult and more confusing to answer because of the lack of concept notes and the lack of presence of our teachers. We were given plenty of assignments to do but were only given a short amount of time which led some of us, including myself, to study and answer t...

Hearts everywhere

This February of 2021, we got to experience again Valentine’s Day- the day of love. The day wherein love is in the air, wherein we get to celebrate love, romance, and affection. To know more about the said holiday, let’s try and dissect the history of it for us to further understand the concept of this day. This year’s celebration is very different to what we were used to before we usually went out to different places with our loved ones and would give and present each other presents and gifts but now we are not even allowed to travel and go out since we are in a middle of a pandemic, and with the government’s response to this virus, the number of infected citizens is still increasing because of this, we are only advised to have very limited interaction with the people that we love and would want to celebrate Valentine’s Day with since we should need to follow certain health protocols to lessen the spread of the Corona Virus. Even though we may not get to feel Valentine’s Day be...

Kannawidan Fest

Image
Residents of the province of Ilocos Sur have a simpler celebration of the annual Kannawidan Ylocos Festival this year. The provincial government, through its provincial tourism office, has announced strict guidelines to be observed during the festival to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Unlike previous years when the Kannawidan Festival is being celebrated for at least a month, this year, it will only run for a week starting Friday, January 29 until February 5. It has various events and competitions throughout the period, these include traditional tribal rituals, choir, and glee club competition, marching band contest, traditional music ensemble, dance drama, traditional and folk dances, contemporary dance competition, and street dancing showdown. The festival is a creative way for Ilocos Sur to introduce non-locals the beauty and creativity of each city comprising the province. Due to COVID-19, The festival limited the contests that will be held in order to follow health protocol...
